Maynooth–Leixlip Royal Canal Greenway Section Officially Opened by Minister O’Brien

Kildare County Council is delighted to announce the official opening of the Maynooth to Leixlip section of the Royal Canal Greenway.

 

The official opening event was held to mark the completion of the works undertaken to widen and upgrade the existing tow path between Maynooth and Leixlip Confey. MORE DETAILS WILL GO HERE.

This route was delivered in partnership with Kildare County Council, the National Transport Authority and Waterways Ireland. The project was fully funded by the Department of Transport. Significant funding has been provided by the Department of Transport to date in realising a high quality walking and cycling route along the Royal Canal Greenway in Counties Kildare, Meath, Westmeath and Longford. Work continue on delivering the remaining sections in County Dublin.
